The Camden ground game and defense led the way for the Panthers as they won their first ever football state title topping Shabazz 27-8 in the 2025 NJSIAA Group 2 Football State Championship game.

Camden amassed 216 yards rushing with Roman Duckett leading the way with 93 of those yards and a touchdown.  Meanwhile, Ahmad Jones led the Cougars through the air completing 11 of 19 passes for 112 yards and two TDs.

Defensively, Camden forced five turnovers.  The Cougars snatched and four interceptions with Jaiden Steele grabbing two and Talib Shakir hauling in a pick-6 for the Cougars, while Scott Freeman and Naaim Presbery each had a forced fumble and Andre Robinson recorded a fumble recovery.  Freeman also grabbed an interception for Camden.

The Shabazz defense did the best they could to help the Bulldog effort causing three Camden turnovers, all fumbles, however, the Shabazz offense was only able to muster one late-game touchdown and two-point conversion.

Zykir Best, Jaden Hill, and Danny Lambertus each had a fumble recovery for the Bulldogs and Adekunbi Adetayo added a forced fumble and two sacks.  Best also added a team high nine tackles for Shabazz.

Jaden Hill threw, and Rayquan Clark caught Shabazz’s lone TD.

Camden and Shabazz each finish their seasons with 12-2 records.
