IMAGES: Cedar Creek Rushes Past Old Tappan for First Group 3 Football Title

Aamir Dunbar had 22 carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns to lead a Cedar Creek rushing attack that amassed 260 total yards as the Pirates topped Old Tappan 34-7 in the 2025 NJSIAA Football Group 3 Championship game.

The Cedar Creek defense limited Old Tappan to 214 yards of total offense while corralling three interceptions.  Frenchmon Bethea, Jahmir Campfield, and Gyan King snagged the Pirates’ interceptions while Jajuan McIntosh-Ward led Cedar Creek with eight tackles, including two tackles for loss.

Zachary Miceli did all he could to will Old Tappan to victory, completing 10 of 19 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown; however, three interceptions did not help the Golden Knight quarterback.

Cedar Creek finishes their season 12-2 while Old Tappan ends their year 12-1.  The victory was also Cedar Creek’s first Group 3 championship.
