IMAGES: Morris Knolls Mercy Rules Kingsway for Group 4 Softball State Title

A half-hour weather delay could only temporarily halt the Morris Knolls offense as the No. 5 Golden Eagles run-ruled Kingsway 14-0 in the 2026 NJSIAA Group 4 Softball State Championship game.

Julia Fox and Taylor Heinemann led a sextet of Eagle batters with multiple hits.  Both Fox and Heinemann went 3-4 at the plate, with Fox finishing a triple shy of the cycle and with four RBIs.  Anna Chominsky, Sabrina Costello, Sofia Cruz, and Kaylee Rolph were the other Morris Knolls batters to record multiple hits.  Cruz also had four RBIs.

Kayla Doyle was masterful in the circle for Knolls.  She scattered four hits over 4.1 innings of work for the Golden Eagles and gave up only two walks while striking out three.

Norah Schank, Violet Shivers, Karsen Taylor, and Reese Whitzell each had a hit for the Dragons as Kingsway struggled to mount much offense.

Sydney Schiavone started in the circle for the Dragons.

With the win, Morris Knolls finishes their season 29-3, while Kingsway finishes their year 21-6.
