IMAGES: Second Half Surge Propels Mountain Lakes to NJ1 Boys Lacrosse Title

Mountain Lakes scored eight second-half goals while holding Ramsey to just one to run away from the Rams 14-5 in the 2026 NJSIAA North Jersey, Group 1 Boys Lacrosse Championship game.

Holden Gillespie and Owen Higgins led the Lakers’ offense.  Gillespie scored five goals and handed out an assist, while Higgins notched four goals and an assist.  Massimo Corvelli also recorded multiple goals for Mountain Lakes, and Lawson Fagan and Aaron Gellert each dished out three helpers to lead the Lakers in assists.

Bailey Austin made 11 saves in goal to earn the win for Mountain Lakes.

Pat O’Neill notched a hat trick to lead the Ramsey offense.  Colin Clark and Owen Crowley also had a goal each for the Rams, and Brodie Ramiza led the Rams with two assists.

Brian Pierpont, who was peppered with shots all afternoon, made 15 saves in goal for Ramsey.

With the win, Mountain Lakes will face Rumson-Fair Haven in the Group 1 Boys Lacrosse State Championship game on Friday at TCNJ.  With the loss, Ramsey finishes their season with a 12-7 record.
