IMAGES: Verde Powers Somerset Past Richmond

Kevin Verde hit a seventh-inning home run and went 2-3 at the plate with two RBIs as the Somerset Patriots topped the Eastern League, Southwest Division-leading Richmond Flying Squirrels 4-2 on July 30, 2026.

Luis Durango and Tomas Frick also had a hit apiece for the Patriots, with Frick also adding an RBI to his night.

Xavier Rivas started on the mound for Somerset, scattering four hits and only one run over six innings of work.  He also struck out seven Richmond batters while only walking three.  Trent Sellers pitched the final third of the ninth inning to earn the save.
