No. 11 Newark Academy won seven of the 11 events, but a whole team effort by No. 4 Pingry propelled the Big Blue to a 91-79 victory in the 2026 NJSIAA Girls Swimming Non-Public, North Championship.

While Pingry relay teams won the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay, Alexia Davies Maria Pontoriero were the Big Blue’s individual winners.  Davies took the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke and Pontoriero placed first in the 50-yard freestyle.

Amy Jiang, Katiana Matlosz, and Kim Tran each had a pair of individual wins for the Minutemen.  Jiang won the 200 and 500-yard freestyle, Matlosz took the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, and Tran took top honors in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly for Newark Academy.

With the win, Pingry will face Trinity Hall in the Non-Public Girls Swimming State Championship on Sunday at the Rutgers Aquatics Center at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center in Piscataway at 11:00 a.m.
