Wood-Ridge scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally from a 3-0 deficit and walk off Roselle Park in the first round of the 2026 NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 Baseball Tournament.

Nick Mabel and Jacob Metcalfe led the Blue Devil offense. Mable recorded a double and three RBIs and a run scored, while Metcalfe went 2-3 at the plate and swiped two bases.

Devin Gravina pitched the final two innings to pick up the win for Wood-Ridge. Lucas Mendoza started on the mound for the Blue Devils. He went five innings, giving up three runs, one earned, on one hit and five walks while striking out six.

Michael Bromirski, Kellen Crawford, and Anthony Damiano each had a hit for the Panthers, with Bromirski adding a run scored and Crawford recording an RBI.

Julian Candelaria was charged with the loss for Roselle Park after surrendering four runs in 1.1 innings of work. Jose Candelaria started on the mound for the Panthers, scattering two hits and four walks while striking out nine over 5.1 innings of work.

With the win, eighth-seeded Wood-Ridge advances to face top-seeded Verona in the 2026 NJSIAA Baseball North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 quarterfinals on Friday. With the loss, Roselle Park sees their season come to a close with a 14-8 record.
