Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto each launched two home runs in the kind of power display that reminded everyone just how dangerous this Mets lineup can be when it’s firing on all cylinders.

They weren’t alone in their charge—Francisco Lindor, Jared Young, and Francisco Alvarez joined the home run party too, with Lindor, Nimmo, and Soto going back-to-back-to-back in the third inning. That marked the Mets’ first time doing that since October 4, 2022.

Soto’s first came right after Nimmo’s blast in that same inning, and he followed with a towering solo shot in the fifth. He finished the night 4-for-5 with four RBI and a reminder that what so many in the great New York media deemed a “slow start” is firmly in the rearview mirror.

In June, Soto is slashing .338/.500/.708 with a 1.208 OPS, seven home runs, and 14 RBI. At 26 years old, he has had 26 career multi-home run games.
“I’ve been feeling good since Day 1,” Soto said postgame. “Things just weren’t going my way… finally I’m getting some luck and we’re just going from there.”
Lindor Breaks Out, Mets Roll
For Lindor, the third-inning home run meant more than just a scoreboard boost—it snapped an 0-for-19 skid and marked his first long ball in 16 games.

By the sixth, he added a two-run double off the right-field wall, capping off a three-RBI night and extending the Mets’ jaw-dropping record to 28 consecutive wins when Lindor homers.

Griffin Canning Settles In
Griffin Canning didn’t have a clean start—he coughed up the Mets’ early lead with two runs in the first and another in the second—but after that, he did what the Mets needed most: he kept them in the game.

Canning went 5+ innings, allowed four runs (three earned), and picked up his seventh win of the season. It wasn’t incredibly dominant, but it was steady, and after some roughed-up outings as of late, he looked more like the “Whiffing Canning” we’ve seen all season.
Behind him, Huascar Brazobán, Ryne Stanek, and Chris Devenski delivered four shutout innings of relief. Things went the Mets’ way all night.

Ya Gotta Believe
The Mets’ top four hitters—Lindor, Nimmo, Soto, and Alonso—combined to go 10-for-18 with nine RBI and six home runs. Just two nights ago, they were stranded and slumping. On Saturday, the offense exploded.
“You know that at some point those guys are gonna come through,” manager Carlos Mendoza said after the win. “It was a pretty impressive showing… They kept battling and finally got a pitch to drive out of the ballpark.”
The Mets had scored just 16 runs during their seven-game slide. They matched nearly 70% of that in one night.
