By Alexis DeNure

Sponsored by Montclair State University, Featuring Laura Jones, Ken Rosato, and Special Guest Dr. Jonathan GS Koppell

NUTLEY, NEW JERSEY — Tuesday, November 4, 2025 —On New Jersey (ONNJ) will deliver comprehensive, live Election Night coverage across the Garden State, streaming statewide and airing nationally on C-SPAN. The broadcast begins at 7 PM ET and is proudly sponsored by Montclair State University, a leader in civic engagement and public service education.

Emmy Award–winning journalists Laura Jones, ONNJ’s Chief Political Reporter, and Ken Rosato, host of ONNJ Mornings, will co-anchor the live special from the On New Jersey studio, guiding viewers through real-time results, expert commentary, and on-the-ground reports from key campaign headquarters.

The centerpiece of the night’s coverage is the New Jersey Governor’s race between Jack Ciattarelli and Mikie Sherrill, one of the most closely watched contests in the nation. On New Jersey reporters will be stationed at both campaign headquarters, providing exclusive interviews, reaction, and live updates as results come in.

In addition, On New Jersey will be live from Jersey City, where former Governor Jim McGreevey is hosting his election-night event as he seeks to become Mayor of Jersey City.

Joining Jones and Rosato in-studio will be Dr. Jonathan GS Koppell, President of Montclair State University, offering insight into civic participation, higher education, and voter engagement in New Jersey’s political process.

“Voting is where civic engagement begins — it’s how people take part in shaping the communities and institutions that define our shared future,” said Dr. Jonathan GS Koppell, President of Montclair State University. “We’re grateful to ONNJ for creating this opportunity to let our students witness democracy in action, gaining real, hands-on experience in producing and reporting throughout this election night. Opportunities like this embody Montclair’s mission to connect learning with purpose and prepare students to lead in the world they’re helping to shape.”

The Election Night production team reflects Montclair’s powerful legacy in media education, with several alumni and current students contributing to the statewide broadcast, including:

Lisa Marie Falbo (’06) — Executive Producer
Joti Rekhi (’12) — Reporter
Izzy Conklin (’25) — Field Producer
Brandon Lang (’25) — Videographer
Esther Soca (’25) — Field Producer

This special broadcast builds on On New Jersey’s leadership in statewide political programming, following its production of the February and May Primary Debates for Governor and the first gubernatorial debate between Mikie Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli on September 21.

“Election Night represents the culmination of a year of storytelling, partnerships, and production,” said Lisa Marie Falbo, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of On New Jersey. “Working alongside Montclair State University and their students makes this coverage especially meaningful. It’s the future of journalism — happening in real time.”

“With Laura Jones and Ken Rosato leading the coverage, our goal is to deliver an election-night experience that is fast-paced, local, and deeply informed,” added Gerald D’Ambra, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of On New Jersey. “Our partnership with Montclair and national exposure through C-SPAN ensures that New Jersey’s political story is told with the depth and respect it deserves.”
