Schwarbomb Slugs His Way Into History With 300th Home Run

By Jordan Beaudoin

The Phillies continue to be on fire. After a fantastic weekend of defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates, the fightin’ Phils took on the Colorado Rockies. They won their fourth straight game in a row and are continuing their streak. However, another historic moment for the Phillies was made in this game by none other than Kyle Schwarber. He made his 300th career home run adding the fuel to the fire in the first win of this series. A truly great moment and one definitely for the Phillies books.

Schwarber’s home run was a 466-foot shot that struck the right deck in the Rockies home stadium on Monday night. It came at the near end of the game after Alec Bohm hit a two-run home run that allowed the Phillies to take the lead. It was a fantastic follow up to everything that had previously occurred in this game. They finished the first game of this series 9-3.

This run showcased how much power he has behind his fierce swing. It not only signifies a personal milestone but shows his continued impact on the game and the team’s success. During this season alone, Schwarber has been batting .257 with 16 home runs and 36 RBIs. He is already ahead of everyone else on the team.

This achievement adds Schwarber to a now elite group that marks him as the 11th active MLB player to reach the 300-home run mark. He has had a fantastic career over the 11 years that he has played in the MLB. His career started with the Chicago Cubs and included stints with the Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox before he officially became a part of the Phillies in 2022. Schwarber has always had the best form behind the plate. After hitting this Milestone his career statistics include, .231 in batting average, 949 hits, 688 RBI’s, and a total of 31 stolen bases.

Schwarber will continue to be great and showcase a lot of what he has during the rest of the season. Hopefully, he will be able to keep this streak up and allow the Phillies to continue to forge ahead. They will continue on to play against the Colorado Rockies for the rest of this coming week. Confidently the Phillies may be able to sweep this series too.
