Bloom Syndrome is a mutation in the BLM gene that makes it difficult for the body to repair DNA damage. For the children and families affected, it means an extremely high risk of cancer, serious health challenges, and a dramatically shortened life expectancy. After their own journey discovering Eric’s Bloom Syndrome diagnosis, Eric Sarbu and Daniela Elena Sarbu, launched awareness efforts, public campaigns, and partnerships with researchers, all with one goal: to ensure kids are tested earlier, diagnosed sooner, and ultimately given a chance at longer, healthier lives.
