May is Huntington’s Disease Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about a rare but devastating hereditary brain disorder that impacts thousands of families across the country, including many right here in New Jersey. Along with spreading awareness and education, advocates are also working to raise funds for research, support services, and families affected by the disease. John Stevens, President of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America New Jersey Chapter, joins the show to talk about his personal connection to Huntington’s Disease, why awareness matters, and an upcoming Team Hope 5K and 1-Mile Walk happening in Belmar.
