News Update: Garden State Film Festival

New Jersey State Police say they recovered 3-tons of marijuana during a commercial vehicle inspection along Interstate 78 in Greenwich Township. Two men from Mexico were arrested and face multiple drug charges. Both remain in custody.

Authorities say a Chester man has been sentenced to two-year of probation. The 52-year-old was the owner of the Mount Olive Karate Academy in Flanders and charged with criminal sexual contact following a relationship with an adult student who had cognitive and developmental disabilities.

After the release of a scathing report on how New Jersey handled the COVID-19 crisis, Gov. Phil Murphy signed an executive order creating a task force to evaluating the recommendations from the 9-million-dollar report.

The 22nd annual Garden State Film Festival wrapped up this past weekend. Event organizers say the festival was founded to promote the art of filmmaking on all levels, by showcasing a wide variety of film, video, and animated works.
