Mike Black

Sports Anchor

Born and raised in West Orange, Mike is a Rutgers University alum who entered the world of television when he graduated in 2008. He got his start working as a production assistant for the sports department at My9 in Secaucus. Over the next few years, he worked behind the scenes for national sports networks, like CBS Sports and MLB Network, where he won an Emmy Award for his work on “MLB Tonight” in 2010.

His on-air journey began in 2015, when he became the main anchor for an ABC/FOX affiliate in Northern California. After coming back to the east coast for three years to announce post-game highlights for MLB.com, Mike headed south to be the main anchor for the FOX affiliate in Huntsville, Alabama.

After years of chasing his dream in different parts of the U.S., Mike is happy to be doing what he loves back in his home state, while working for an awesome network like “On New Jersey”.

In addition to hosting “On Sports”, Mike works on World News Tonight at ABC News.
