Police say about $1,200 in baseball equipment was stolen from a field, between Main and Chestnut streets in Gloucester Township. Security cameras caught the suspects taking the bases, the mound and a net for batting practice.

A Millville man was sentenced to 60 years in prison for a fatal shooting at the Carlton House Apartments in 2021. Police arrived and found a 28-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his head. The shooter, 34-year-old Darryl Wallace, was convicted back in October.

State troopers were able to rescue a dog from the Arthur Kill, near the Elizabeth Marina. They found the animal struggling against the current and showing signs of fatigue. It was taken to the Carteret Station and found to be in good health. 

The Hunterdon County Quilting Guild donated over 100 handcrafted teddy bears to first responders, who will provide them to children in need of comfort during emergenicies.
