PSE&G just finished one of the biggest projects in the history of the company. Workers had to restore power to more than 380,000 customers, following the heat and thunderstorms at the beginning of the month.

The Cape May County exhibit received a Best in Show award at the Great American State Fair in Washington, DC. During the 16-day extravaganza, they put a sand sculpture on display and handed out more than 50,000 samples of their famous saltwater taffy.

Kate Pierson and Fred Schneider, founding members of The B-52’s, were inducted onto the Count Basie Center Walk Of Fame. In addition to performing at the Red Bank venue several times, they’re both New Jerseyans. Pierson is from Rutherford while Schneder grew up in Oceanport.

The Riverton Police Department unveiled its first-ever motorcycle unit during a recent ceremony. The Harley Davidson was acquired using forfeiture funds and private donations, instead of tax dollars. Officer Tim Obuchowski will operate the vehicle.
