Dr. Riley Williams III, a sports medicine surgeon with Hospital for Special Surgery, has been named Venue Medical Officer for FIFA World Cup 2026. He will serve as the liaison between FIFA and local medical providers.

A ceremony was held at American Dream in East Rutherford this week, for the arrival of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola. The event is part of the mall’s Dream Fan Fest.

Essex County Executive Joe Divincenzo announced plans to upgrade the softball fields at Irvington Park. Synthetic playing surfaces will be put on the infield, while the outfield will remain grass.

The Trenton Thunder baseball team kicked off its 2026 season earlier this week, against the Aberdeen IronBirds. Mercer County Executive Dan Benson through out the first pitch. The Thunder beat the IronBirds 6-to-1.
