A Toms River woman has filed a lawsuit against Volvo, and her friend — who owns a Volvo — after she was injured on a hiking trip in 2023. Megan Kohr claims the friend’s dog walked under the back bumper, triggering the hands-free sensor to close the tailgate on her head.

A Toms River man was sentenced to six years in prison after methamphetamine and a loaded handgun were found in his car during a traffic stop in 2023. 32-year-old Amir Reid pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm in July.

After recently retiring from the Burlington City Police Department, Mike Ekelberg was just welcomed back as a School Resource Officer. He’ll be assigned to Captain James Lawrence Elementary School.
