A Mount Laurel woman has admitted to taking part in a — counterfeit check operation. 29-year-old Yasmene Johnson and **two others *stole checks from *public mailboxes and *changed the names and amounts *before depositing them into their own accounts. The theft took place from January of 2021 until February of this year.

The Assembly — passed a bill that *removes the requirement for 11th graders to pass a *statewide exam in order to receive a diploma. The bill *also prohibits the State Board of Education from *ever re-imposing a test as a graduation condition.

Cape May County honored Jerry Thornton, who advocated for *mental health and *human services for nearly 40 years. Thornton helped modernize the County’s behavioral health network and helped expand integrated treatment services.

Congratulations to Captain Stephen Levy on his retirement from the Marlboro Township Police Department. Levy served the community for 27 years.
