Big news has hit the New York Red Bulls as two of their forwards, Julian Hall and Tanner Rosborough, one goalkeeper, Aidan Stokes and one defender Matthew Dos Santos have just been called into the U.S. Youth National Team (USYNT) Under-17 camp in Spain, which takes place from June 2- June 10
- Julian Hall: 17 years old, forward
- Tanner Rosborough: 17 years old, forward
- Aidan Stokes: 17 years old, goalkeeper
- Matthew Dos Santos: 16 years old, defender
Let’s break down how each young Red Bull has performed during previous call-ups to the USYNT and for their club, which has mostly been New York Red Bulls II with the exception of Julian Hall.
Joltin’ Julian
Red Bulls academy product Julian Hall has made 10 appearances for the New York Red Bulls first team in 2025. He has made two appearances for the Baby Bulls where he has recorded two goals and an assist. Hall was last called up to the USYNT in November 2024 for a weeklong training camp.
Hall received his first call-up to the USYNT U-15 in March 2023 and scored three goals during the 2023 U-15 CONCACAF Championship that his team won by defeating Mexico 4-2 in the final. Hall made a lot of noise when he led Red Bulls U-15 to the MLS NEXT Championship. He was awarded the Golden Boot and Golden Ball (MVP) for the 5 goals and one assist he had throughout the tournament.
In the past, Hall was also called up by the Poland Youth National Team.
Rockin’ Rosborough
Red Bulls academy product Tanner Rosborough comes into his second U-17 USYNT call up in good form. He recently scored his first career professional brace in a 4-1 win for the Baby Bulls on May 18. He has played in six matches for the Baby Bulls this season and leads the team with four goals.
Rosborough has made three appearances for the U-17 USYNT, most notably being his four-goal and assist performance against U-17 St. Kitts and Neves on Feb. 13. He previously represented the USYNT at the U-15 and U-16 levels and scored two goals in six matches for the U-15 team en route to winning the 2023 U-15 CONCACAF Championship.
Stoking the Fire
Stokes will be representing the USYNT U-17 team for the second time, having played two matches against Germany and Slovakia in the Vaclaav Jezek Cup in Czechia in Aug. 2024. He also has the Welsh and English Youth National Teams clamoring for him, as in the past he has made five appearances for U-16 Wales and one appearance for U-17 England.
So far this season with the Baby Bulls, the Totowa, New Jersey native has started all nine of his team’s matches and made 25 saves, which is the fifth-most in MLS NEXT Pro this season. His best performance came in a penalty kicks win against Carolina Core FC on May 4. In that game, the New Jerseyan made three saves in a penalty kick shootout and topped it off by scoring the game-winning penalty.
Matty Ice
This is Dos Santos’ first call up to the USYNT and it comes on the heels of a stellar season so far for the defender. This year in MLS NEXT Pro, the Connecticut-native has three goals in nine matches, including two direct free kicks. Dos Santos also leads all Red Bulls II players in minutes played with 720.
What’s Going on in Spain?
During this camp in Spain, the U-17 USYNT will play three friendly matches. The first one comes against U-17 Sweden on June 5, followed by a matchup against U-17 Canada on June 7. The U-17 USYNT will finish camp against U-17 Japan on June 10. All four players are worth keeping two eyes on, as long as you can spare them throughout this camp.
