Giants Training Camp Preview: What to look for before regular season begins

By Jordan Beaudoin

The New York Football Giants are one week away from their 2025 season training camp. There is a lot for the franchise and the fans to look forward to for this coming season. The franchise has spent a lot of time putting back together both its offensive and defensive lines. That being said, there are a few key areas to watch for this training camp.

The quarterback room is already full. They have Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, Jaxson Dart, and Tommy DeVito, all players who know exactly what they are doing. This quarterback room is keeping fans buzzed and ready to see the Giants move ahead this season. Dart, the Giants’ new rookie quarterback, is keeping everyone on their toes already this season, and he is giving Wilson a run for his money for the starting role. Fans may get to see him start later in the NFL season.

The Giants tight end room has been stacked for a while now. Players to keep an eye on are both Theo Johnson and Chris Manhertz. Both of these Giants are looking to enhance their roles for this season. There is a possibility that Johnson may have a breakout season this year. He has been receiving a lot of buzz about the target volume he is showing Big Blue already. On the other hand, Manhertz brings leadership, which is demonstrated in blocking, which is always the area in which he has strived.

The other area to watch is Malik Nabers. After a strong rookie season, he is poised to have another breakout season this year. This offseason, he has done very well despite taking it easy due to a toe injury. However, he has proven time and time again, after working with Wilson, that he still has it.

On the other hand, the Giants spent a lot of time fixing their defensive line. Linebacker duo Bobby Okereke and Micah McFadden are presumed to be the starters this season. However, the rookies will try to push their way in to start. They have obtained Abdul Carter, a complete monster on the defensive line. They are thrilled to have him. Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Brian Burns also keep the defensive line fully loaded. All these top-notch players are making the Giants’ defensive line look like they will be one of the top-tier defenses this season.

Everyone should really pay attention to the safety room, though. The Giants added veterans such as Jevon Holland and a few others. These guys are expected to anchor the Giants’ identity.

The training camp will carry the weight of what the Giants team will look like for this coming season. Fans should expect a lot coming from this team. They will have intense battles, a focused push on unity as a team, and critical roster shaping moments.

Training camp kicks off for Big Blue at the Giants’ Quest training center on July 23, where everyone will get to see what heat Big Blue will bring.
