Gotham FC midfielder Savannah McCaskill has signed a contract extension through the 2028 season, the club announced Friday.
McCaskill, 29, was re-acquired by Gotham on January 2 in a trade with San Diego Wave FC that sent $175,000 in intraleague transfer funds the other way.
Through five matches in 2026, McCaskill has recorded one assist while starting regularly in Gotham’s midfield rotation early in the season.
“Being back at Gotham has meant a lot to me,” McCaskill said. “This club has been part of my journey from the start, and I’m excited to keep building with this team and competing for championships.”
McCaskill has settled into a consistent starting role since her return, contributing to both buildup play and chance creation during the opening stretch of the campaign.
“Savannah brings experience in this league and a steady presence in the midfield,” said general manager and head of soccer operations Yael Averbuch West. “We’re pleased to have her continue with us.”
McCaskill returned to Gotham after two seasons with the San Diego Wave, where she made 45 appearances across all competitions and logged more than 3,600 minutes. In 2025, she started 20 of 21 regular season matches and scored one goal.
With the extension, Gotham secures an experienced midfielder who has been a consistent selection early in the 2026 campaign and remains part of the club’s plans moving forward.
