Gotham FC forward Khyah Harper is headed to the Houston Dash after the club agreed to a free transfer, the team announced Tuesday.
Harper departs Gotham after two seasons with the club, where she was part of a historic stretch that included an NWSL Championship, a Concacaf W Champions Cup title and the 2026 NWSL Challenge Cup.
The 23-year-old joined Gotham ahead of the 2025 season after completing her collegiate career at the University of Minnesota. She made 17 regular-season appearances during her rookie campaign, including two starts, and scored her first NWSL goal in her first career start on Aug. 1 against the Chicago Stars.
Across two seasons, Harper made 25 appearances in all competitions and scored three goals for Gotham. She also made an impact on the international stage, scoring the game-winning goal against CF Monterrey during the group stage of the 2025-26 Concacaf W Champions Cup before adding another goal against ASFAR in the third-place match of the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup at Emirates Stadium.
Reflecting on her time with Gotham, Harper expressed gratitude for the opportunity to begin her professional career with the club.
“Thank you so much, Gotham FC,” Harper said. “I am so grateful for this amazing club and for receiving my first professional contract here.”
She also thanked the club’s coaches, teammates, staff and supporters for their role in her development.
“This is such a special place, filled with incredible people who have made this journey unforgettable,” Harper said. “To the coaches, my teammates, the staff, the fans and supporters, thank you for believing in me and for the trust you’ve shown me from day one. I’ll always be thankful for everything this club has given me.”
Gotham president of soccer operations Yael Averbuch West thanked Harper for her contributions during her time with the club.
“We’re grateful to Khyah for everything she brought to Gotham FC during her time with our club,” Averbuch West said. “We wish her nothing but success in this next chapter with Houston.”
The move marks another roster change for Gotham as the club continues to shape its squad ahead of the remainder of the season. Harper now joins a Houston side looking to add attacking depth after her two-year run with the reigning NWSL champions.
