IMAGES: Bergen Catholic Football Routs Winslow in Battle of Defending State Champions

The Bergen Catholic ground game proved to be the difference as the defending Non-Public A state champion Crusaders routed defending Group 4 state champion Winslow 41-14 on Sept. 12, 2025.

Najee Calhoun provided the bulk of BC’s 245 yards on the ground, carrying the ball 17 times for 154 yards and a touchdown.  Bergen Catholic quarterback, Trey Tagliaferri, provided support through the air, completing 12 of 18 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns.

Winslow quarterback Jalen Parker did everything he could to keep the Eagles in the game, passing for 227 yards and two touchdowns.  However, three interceptions from Parker, combined with the lack of a run game, ultimately hindered Winslow’s efforts.
