IMAGES: Davis, Becton Football Holds Off Waldwick

Becton led 9-0 at halftime and then weathered a second-half comeback attempt from Waldwick to top the Warriors 24-20 on Sept. 3, 2026.

The Wildcats were led by dual-threat quarterback Elijah Davis, who went 24 of 36 for 207 yards and a touchdown through the air and carried the ball 14 times for 107 yards and two additional TDs on the ground.  Logan King and Preston Pitts were Davis’ favorite targets.  King had eight receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown, while Pitts hauled in nine catches for 91 yards.

Aidan Maher and Luciano Mayer led the Waldwick offense.  Maher carried the ball nine times for 95 yards and a touchdown, and Mayer handled the pigskin 19 times for 84 yards and two TDs.

With the win, Becton improves to 1-1 on the season while Waldwick falls to 1-1 with the loss.  The Wildcats will next travel to North Haledon on Friday to face Manchester Regional, while the Warriors will host Glen Rock on Thursday.
