IMAGES: Plainfield Repeats as Group 4 Boys Basketball Champions

In a rematch of last year’s Group 4 boys basketball championship, Plainfield again downed Montgomery, this time by a 49-40 score, to repeat as NJSIAA Group 4 boys basketball champions.

Micah Gordon led three Cardinals in double-digit scoring with 20 points.  Kamai Lowery and Rashawn Williams joined Gordon in double-figures scoring with 12 and 10 points respectively.  Tylor Hunter dished out six assists for Plainfield.

Ethan Lin was the only Cougar in double-digit scoring with 20 points.  Connor Benedict finished with nine points and Shriyans Mallavarapu grabbed eight rebounds and tallied three blocks for Montgomery.

Plainfield and Montgomery finish the season with identical 26-5 records.
