IMAGES: Stevens Indoor Track and Field Posts Multiple Top-5 Finishes at West Point Tune Up

The Stevens Institute of Technology indoor track and field teams found success at the West Point Tune Up, the Ducks’ final meet before the Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The men had five top-5 finishes at West Point with Max Thorn and James Adamo leading the way with a one, two finish in the 5,000 meter run.  Thorn finished in first for the Ducks with a time of 16:17.26, while Adamo finished in second with a time of 16:47.61.

Additionally on the men’s side, Stevens’ 4×400 relay team of Eduardo Neto, Colin Fisher, Caleb Stephen, and Nelson VanMaaren finished in second place. Kevin Medrow ran a 4:34.57 mile to finish fourth. And, finally, Joseph Ruben was fourth in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 9:26.61.

The women also recorded five in top-5 finishes at West Point.  Catherine Bondi led the way for the women’s squad, finishing first in the 5,000 meters with a time of 21:27.70.

Additional top-5 finishers on the women’s side included Kaitlyn Adams, Madeline Bender, Kate Cen, and Emily Laudman.  Adams set a personal best 10:44.13 in the 3,000 meters to finish in second.  Bender took third in the mile with a time of 5:37.54.  And, finally, Cen and Laudman finished in third and fourth in the 800 meters respectively with times of 2:33.56 and 2:34.47.

Up next, Stevens will travel to Reading, Pa. for the Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 27-28.
