The extraordinary international story of Venezuela has moved to the courtroom. After the US military operation that resulted in the capture of former Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, both were brought to New York to face federal charges, including narco-terrorism and drug trafficking. Maduro appeared in a Manhattan federal court, pleaded not guilty, and was ordered held until his next court appearance in March.
