The New Jersey Department of Transportation says emergency maintenance dredging has started in the Wills Hole Thoroughfare in Point Pleasant Beach. The $1.35 million dollar project will restore the channel to a safer depth for boats.

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant has a new ride that offers a seagull’s view of the beach. Point Plummet opens later this season. It’s themed with a lighthouse tower and nautical flags, and will replace the Pirate’s Plunge.

Smash Bunz, a fast-casual burger joint that’s also known for its milkshakes, just opened on East Main Street in Freehold. The new restaurant seats up to 45 people, while outdoor seating can accomodate an additional 12 to 16 customers.

Next Wednesday, the City of Paterson will unveil the Quarry Lawn & River Walk. The new, two-and-a-half acre park highlights the beauty of the Passaic River while celebrating the city’s rich manufacturing history. The event kicks off at 11am.
