Police are investigating– following the death of a South Brunswick woman. Officers were called to a home on *Redwood Court to conduct a welfare check and found *47-year-old Veronica Jones — unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Hamilton Township man, who *worked as a teacher — and *dressed as Santa Claus– during the holiday season, is facing **child pornography charges.** 64-year-old Mark Paulino allegedly uploaded **multiple files of the material to the internet.

Colonel Patrick Callahan — has announced he will retire as superintendent of the State Police by the end of the year. Callahan joined the agency in 1995 and became superintendent in 2021.

Romance novelist Fern Michaels, who wrote nearly *200 books and spent *several years on best-seller lists, has died. Michaels took up writing in her 40s, while living in Edison. She was 92 years old.
