A Union Beach woman accused of killing her two toddlers in a car fire in 1994 is requesting a new trial. Lawyers say that based on advances in arson science, there is now doubt with the expert testimony from back then. The 61-year-old is serving a 100-year sentence.

A man was arrested and charged with forcing a minor into prostitution, on several occasions between April and May in Gloucester County. 25-year-old Amir Vaughan, a registered sex offender, allegedly recorded the interactions on video to sell the content.

A second death at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson has been linked to deadly bacteria found in the hospital’s water system. A patient also died in July after testing positive.

A man who stole two mandolins from Lark Street Music, an antique shop in Teaneck, has since returned the instruments. He left a note saying quote “SORRY, I BEEN DRUNK, MERRY CHRISTMAS.”
