Bella Baldino and Brooke Donofrio smashed monster homeruns to lead No. 7 Ramsey to an 8-1 victory over Barnegat in the 2026 NJSIAA Group 2 Softball State Championship, the Rams’ first softball state title in seven years.

Every batter in the Ramsey lineup got at least one hit, with Baldino, Donofrio, and Taylor Murphy leading the way.  Baldino was 3-4, with a homerun, an RBI, and three runs scored.  Murphy went 2-3 with a double and a run scored, and Donofrio went 2-4 with a double, a homerun, two RBIs, and two runs scored.

Along with her stellar day at the plate, Donofrio also dominated in the circle for the Rams.  She pitched all seven innings, giving up only one run on one hit, while walking one and striking out 15.

Riley Schmidt had the lone hit, RBI, and run scored for the Bengals after she hit a seventh-inning home run that bounced off the top of the left field wall to end Donofrio’s no-hit and shutout bid.

Gianna Gomez had a rough day in the circle for Barnegat, surrendering eight runs, seven earned, on 13 hits while striking out six.

With the win, Ramsey finishes their season 26-3, while Barnegat finishes their campaign at 24-3.
