Four Scarlet Knights Named All-Big Ten Field Hockey Second Team

By Gregg Snyder

Rutgers field hockey finished the regular season 11-7, including 5-3 in conference. The Scarlet Knights will now compete in the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 4 seed, facing off against No. 5 seed Indiana in the Quarterfinals Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.

Rutgers had five players recognized with All-Big Ten honors this season.

Anna Cogdell, Eden Doucelin, Olivia Fraticelli, and Talia Schenck were named Second Team All-Big Ten while Doucelin and Ella Gandy were named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. Additionally, Schenck received the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

Fraticelli led the Scarlet Knights with 13 goals this season and had 27 points overall. She has three game-winning goals this season.

Cogdell has seven goals and 15 points this season while starting 17 of Rutgers’ 18 games.

Schenck earns her third career all-conference honor, but first as a Scarlet Knight. Her previous two came in the Ivy League during her time at Princeton. She started all 18 games for Rutgers this season and scored five goals and a team-high seven assists. Schenck has been on a hot streak, having scored 12 points over the team’s last nine games.

The dual-honored Doucelin became a defensive fixture at center back for the Scarlet Knights in her freshman campaign. The Brussels, Belgium, native recorded a defensive save and two assists.

Fellow freshman Gandy became a starter just three games into the season and never looked back, starting in the Scarlet Knights’ midfield for the final 16 regular season games.

This is the first time Rutgers has had at least four players names to the All-Big Ten team since 2023.
